Getting Ready for Florida

We are getting excited about our week long trip to Florida. We have our plane tickets (which we got for a steal at $200 round trip a piece) and Harrison booked our hotels a couple of weeks ago. We have decided that we are going to make this trip a real vacation. We are both very tired people. We don't see each other a whole lot... with our multiple places of employment keeping us away from home a lot. So, we will go to Florida and relax! We are seriously lacking some sleep, so what a better way to sleep... right next to the beautiful beach.

Harrison is going to try and meet with some people at a couple of the colleges that he is interested in. He will try to network as much as he can now. It is exciting to think that we may spend the next several years in Florida. It is not a place I would have dreamed in a million years that I would potentially live in Florida.

Our travels will take us to Orlando, Melbourne, Miami, and Ft. Lauderdale. We will be driving quite a bit, but I think it will be worth it. Neither one of us has been to Florida and I really think that we will love it there (I hope).
I am excited to take loads of pictures to show you all how our trip goes. I think I am really starting to get the hang of using the camera (finally). I used to be banned to just the video camera... but now I can use the Nikon too! Ha Ha. You laugh... you think this is funny... but it is the gospel truth!

Memorial Day Weekend in Salt Lake

Say "Cheese!" Boys! Grandpa enjoyed taking pictures of his grandsons.

Having fun boys? We enjoyed the almost warm weather on Temple Square Sunday morning. We were surprised at how busy it was on Sunday.

What's wrong Laura? Not having fun? Too early in the morning for you Princess?
The temple was beautiful with all of the flowers and blooming trees. I was excited to take some pictures around "the square".

VanTrap Family Singers? Ha Ha!

We were able to go and see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform Music and the Spoken Word early on Sunday morning. It was the first time Harrison and I heard the choir live. It was a spiritual experience. We have friends that sing in the choir, so it was neat to try and pick them out of the crowd.

Good times were had by all! We had so much fun this weekend. We are thankful for family.

Bio Medics

Harrison is working full time at Bio Medics. It is a plasma donation center. Harrison donates twice a week at this plasma place and we decided that it would be cool if he worked there full time.
He interviews donors to make sure they don't have any weird diseases or been to any countries that might contaminate them. He pricks their fingers to test their blood and he takes their blood pressure.
How professional he looks in his lab coat! He looks a bit intimidating. He likes his job. It is quite busy... there is not a lot of down time, but he likes it all the same.

I love to see the temple

We attended the Provo temple with Harrison's family yesterday. We were able to do some family temple work. It was such a neat experience. Grandma Aubert was sealed for time and all eternity to her late husband. Kay was also sealed to her parents. What a great day in our family! It was such a beautiful day too! As you can see from these pictures, the sun was shining and it was so warm!
My favorite in-laws. They are such great people. I love you Kay and Dennis!
I don't think we were able to get a picture with everybody looking the right way. The sun was so bright as you can see.

I was tagged and didn't even know it!

So, I hadn't been on Gary and Amanda's blog for a long time... and I just read that I was tagged for this survey... Here it goes!

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.

B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.

C. At the end of the post the player then tags other people and posts their names and leaves a message on their blog letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog to get directions.

Maestro's Gelato Cafe

So, this is Jaala's part time night job. Maestro's Gelato Cafe. It is pretty fun. I love the people I work with. I bet I scoop a hundred scoops of gelato a night. I am pretty much the oldest person that works there... and the only one who is married. It is fun to be with the high school and just out of high school kids though.

Tulip Tuesday

I went walking about the neighborhood looking for flowers and blooms. This is a tree in front of the post office that I walk by everyday on my way to and from work. I don't know what kind of tree it is... but I love it! It is so pretty. I love the color. I loved my little trek around the neighborhood.

These were a couple of the bushes and trees at Nu Skin. I enjoy looking out the window at work to see these trees. So pretty!
I also went to the Provo LDS Temple grounds to take pictures of the beautiful flowers. I loved it. The outside of the temple is just as pretty and calm as the inside. I haven't taken any real pictures with our camera but I would have to say that I was pretty dang happy with they way these turned out.

Flowers Everywhere!

I am in love with the flowers here in Utah. I think I have finally found something I like about this place. I can't believe how many things bloom around here. It is amazing. There was nothing like that in Las Vegas. I have the privilege of walking to work everyday and it always brings a smile to my face to see the blooming trees and shrubs and flowers. Tulips are so wonderful. I am going to go about the neighborhood taking pictures of the beautiful blooms this evening. I will share my discoveries with you in the morning. WELCOME SPRING... I have missed you!
